2026 Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street 'Geotjaging'

'Geotjaging' combines dialect and the present-progressive 'ing' to mean enjoying Geumnam-ro together by walking along it. In line with Gwangju's declaration of a transition to a 'dae-ja-bo city' (public transit, bicycle, walking), it is an event that helps overcome the climate crisis and creates a street where rest and communication coexist in the city center, including the activation of dae-ja-bo. In 2026, it will be held on the first Saturday of every month from 4 to 11, and the event provides an environment where citizens can walk freely, while various hands-on programs and cultural performances are operated together.
