Welcome to Singwandong

Welcome to Singwandong is a street festival centered on youth culture held around the Daehak-ro area of Singwandong, Gongju-si. As part of the cultural city development project promoted by Gongju City and the Gongju Culture and Tourism Foundation, its purpose is to foster Singwandong as a hub for youth culture and to promote the local cultural ecosystem and the vitality of the commercial district. The festival has been held since 2022 and has operated as a street-performance-centered festival, steadily expanding content such as a busking competition, street performances, a beer festa, a flea market, and hands-on programs. In 2025, the "Welcome to Singwandong" brand was established through street signs, sculptures, and navigation service listings, and in 2026 the goal is to establish a sustainable festival model based on a cooperative operating system in which residents, merchants, universities, and youth all participate together. The 2026 festival is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 11 around the Daehak-ro area of Singwandong, and will feature main performances, nationwide street performances, performances by local youth and young adult performance groups, programs linked to local commercial districts, and local currency coupon events. It is also planned to operate as a representative local street festival that encourages visitors to stay in the area by linking with the Baekje Cultural Festival and promotes cultural and economic revitalization around Singwandong.
