The Punggi Ginseng Festival is held in Yeongju, one of Korea's leading ginseng-growing regions, in October, when ginseng is at its most nutrient-rich. As befitting a festival themed around ginseng, a symbol of health, the event focuses on health-related exhibitions and hands-on experiences. Visitors can taste ginseng dishes made with nutritious Punggi ginseng, and also enjoy fun ginseng-related experiences such as peeling ginseng, making ginseng medicinal wine, and finding the golden ginseng! In addition, fresh ginseng, red ginseng, and processed products made from ginseng, carefully harvested by local ginseng farmers, can be purchased at affordable prices.
