Sunchang Fermented Sauces Festival

*The festival details below are from last year's (2025) festival, and the 2026 festival details are currently being updated.* To commemorate the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage inscription of Korea’s jang-making culture and to mark the 20th anniversary of the festival, this representative Korean fermented food festival aims to establish its identity as the home of traditional jang and to introduce the excellence of K-food to the world. It features more than 50 diverse programs in 8 categories, including hands-on programs using traditional jang, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales, and visitors can taste spicy and savory foods made with Sunchang gochujang. In particular, special signature experiential programs unique to the Sunchang Fermented Sauces Festival, such as the ‘Sunchang Gochujang King’s Royal Procession,’ Fermentation Nation 1997, and Let’s Make Meju by Boiling and Pounding Beans, will also be presented. This year, to celebrate the 20th anniversary, a variety of programs will also be held, including ‘Find the Golden Meju’ and the ‘You and I, Now of Age’ fermented sauce product discount event.
