King Sejong and Chojeong Mineral Spring Festival

This festival commemorates the historical fact that King Sejong stayed at Chojeong Haenggung and, over 120 days, treated his thirst diabetes and eye disease with Chojeong mineral water while accomplishing great achievements such as governing the state and creating Hangul. By doing so, it aims to reexamine the value of King Sejong and Chojeong mineral water, and to widely promote the historical and scientific excellence of Chojeong mineral water, one of the world's rare 3 major mineral springs. Through this, it seeks to lay the foundation for growing into a global cultural tourism festival beyond Korea by spreading the value of Cheongju's clean natural environment and health resources at home and abroad, and to establish itself as Cheongju's representative brand festival based on the achievements of the festival that has continued for the past 20 years.
