Chilgok Nakdonggang Peace Festival

The Chilgok Nakdonggang Peace Festival is held to honor the historical significance of the Battle of the Nakdong River, the final defense line during the Korean War, and to recall the spirit of national defense. It operates a variety of programs to remember the value of the Republic of Korea that ordinary people defended at the risk of their lives in 1950 and to express gratitude to those who protected the country. In the 13th edition of the festival in 2026, it has prepared performances, participation activities, and food programs that can be enjoyed under the theme of peace, and under the slogan 'A boy, becoming a boy soldier,' it also planned programs to reveal the existence of young boy soldiers, who had been relatively overlooked behind the narrative of student soldiers highlighted as symbols of national defense, and to honor their spirits, further strengthening the festival's historical and peace-oriented message.
