Hwasun Unju Cultural Festival
The Hwasun Unju Cultural Festival is a leading cultural festival held at Unjusa Temple in Hwasun, a mysterious sacred site where a thousand Buddha statues and stone pagodas are nestled throughout the valleys. In the tranquil temple grounds, where the legend of a reclining Buddha bearing a thousand years of history blends with numerous stone pagodas, diverse cultural and artistic programs unfold for people of all ages to enjoy together. Traditional bell-ringing that resonates with the heart, pungmul folk performances, and music performances from various genres enliven the festival, while participatory missions exploring different parts of Unjusa Temple and abundant traditional and cultural experiences are also available. As autumn deepens, visitors can journey through time and space into the mysterious legend of the Thousand Buddhas and Thousand Pagodas, finding warm respite and creating special memories.
