EX HORROR Season 6: Silla X Zombie is a walking horror experience held in Hwarang Forest inside Gyeongju Expo Grand Park on a midsummer night. Artist Choi Youngwook’s work always begins with one fundamental question: “What traces does life leave behind, and where do those traces flow?” He has explored this question for more than 20 years under the name “Karma.” Karma is not simply the title of a series, but the central concept that drives his pictorial world, defining both his attitude toward existence and the structure through which he relates to the world. For the artist, the lines of the moon jar are not a reproduction of actual cracks, but drawings that contain his own story, and in the way those lines meet, part, and reconnect, he has read the cycle of life. Through that process, he arrived at the title “Karma,” a name that does not remain within a specific religious interpretation but carries the belief that a life lived earnestly eventually returns as something positive. This exhibition is composed of four sections: exploration, discovery, internalization, and expansion. These four journeys go beyond formal divisions; they are a flow of thought that spans the artist’s 30-year body of work and a structure that makes visible the trajectory through which his pictorial life has matured. It is an exhibition that allows visitors, as they follow the artist’s journey, to reflect on their own karma and to spend quiet time looking deeply into their inner worlds and contemplating their lives. This exhibition hopes to serve as a small starting point that opens the door to such reflection.

Yeongdeok National Heritage Night Walk

The 2026 Yeongdeok National Heritage Night Walk, under the subtitle "Yeonghae 1926, Walking Through That Night," is a night-time history and culture festival held for 3 days from August 21 to 23, 2026, in the area around the modern history and culture space of Yeonghaejangteo Street in Yeonghae-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Yeonghaejangteo Street is a nationally registered cultural heritage site at the township level that exists in only 6 regions across the country, and the night walk held here is an immersive cultural event where visitors can walk through the alleys and experience history firsthand by bringing back to life the streetscape of Yeonghae from 100 years ago. Set against the year 1926, a wide variety of content fills the night streets, including a live-action musical, a modern costume parade, a rickshaw, a silent film, and traditional intangible heritage performances. Under 8 themes, Yeonggyeong, Yaro, Yasa, Yhwa, Yiseol, Ysik, Yasuk, and Ysi, a total of 40 programs operate every day from 7 to 11 p.m., and all events are free to join.
