Dalbame Chejo Busan Challenge
The Dalbame Chejo Busan Challenge is a Busan-specific recreational sports program designed to encourage even residents who are unfamiliar with exercise or usually have little interest in it to participate easily and enjoyably in everyday sports, with the goals of expanding public participation in recreational sports, improving health, and creating a lively nighttime leisure culture. Hosted and organized by Busan Metropolitan City, this participatory event uses outdoor spaces such as Busan’s representative parks and waterfront areas so residents can regularly enjoy recreational sports under the moonlight each week on autumn nights. The main program consists of various recreational sports activities taught directly by well-known fitness influencers, including calisthenics, yoga, circuit training, Zumba, and children’s exercise. It also features recreational sports performances such as taekwondo, jump rope, boxing, and cheerleading, as well as cultural performances including magic, comedy, busking, and concerts. Festival-style participatory events that residents can join and enjoy are also offered, including a public fitness zone, a fitness champion contest, Tabata and spinning challenges, and a random-play dance challenge. The venue includes recreational sports experiences such as archery, basketball, bowling, and golf, along with health-related booths for fitness measurement, exercise prescriptions, taping, and pain care, as well as various activities in which families can participate together. By combining recreational sports programs with performances, participatory events, and family activities, this public participatory sports festival aims to lower barriers to exercise and expand opportunities to take part in everyday sports.
